Taxidermy Information

Although we do not have any direct interest in Taxidermy work we are often asked about the prices of taxidermy work in South Africa as well as the cost involved in dipping and shipping of raw trophies abroad. The price list included here provides a good indication of the cost involved. The r

ange of prices can vary greatly from season to season. We will recommend very reputable taxidermists upon request.

Important Information Concerning Taxidermy Work
    1. Packaging: only one client per crate. This is a new arrangement required by the USA.
    2. Trophies must remain in South Africa for a minimum of 90 days before shipping.
    3. Warthogs can cause a delay in shipping if the State Veterinarian of the area is not available to issue transport             permits
    4. Many problems are currently encountered with delays in the issuing of permits by the relevant government                   agencies. It just takes time.
    5. Please note that taxidermy rates are quoted in South Africa’s Rand because of fluctuations in Canadian and US currency.
    6. Shipping costs can only be finalized at the time trophies are dropped off. The costs provided here are estimates
    7. Payment of a deposit to the taxidermist will ensure that your work goes on the production line.
    8. No raw rodents may be exported
    9. Warthogs must be packed in a separate crate

Raw and processed product cannot be shipped together

Raw Preparation and Shipping Cost

Cost $ 50-00 Per Animal
Plus 14% Value added Tax
Plus $ 175 per shipment for crating and documentation
Plus $ 30 per Cites permit as required
To calculate the cost of having trophies mounted in the United States or Canada add the above fees , to the cost of shipping and the Mounting costs in the United States or Canada.
